With EC Regulation No. 842/2006 (the ‘F-Gas’ legislation) on the horizon, Norish realised action needed to be taken. Two of its sites – located at Brierley Hill and Bury St Edmonds – offer multi temperature warehousing facilities. Each site has a system containing a refrigerant charge of around five tonnes, placing them well in the top bracket of responsibility dictated by the legislation. Norish was legally obliged to fit a fixed leak detection system, conduct regular checks and repair any leaks within a set time frame.
