Norish is celebrating 30 years of trading. The company was founded in 1975 as a joint venture between Irish and Norwegian investors to provide cold storage services in Ireland. Norish became a public company in 1986 and was listed on the Dublin and London Stock Exchanges, (now listed on AIM since April 2005).
The Group's first cold store was established at Castleblayney, County Monaghan in 1975. In the period to 1989, the Group opened five additional cold stores in Ireland. The majority of the Group's business was derived from commodity products, mainly intervention beef and butter.
Thirty years on, after surviving the vagaries of the fickle commodity storage market for products such as beef, butter, cocoa and coffee, Norish has successfully focused its attention and strategy on growing the temperature controlled and ambient storage and logistics business.
The company now provides warehousing and logistics services for many Blue Chip manufacturers, retailers and distributors/importers, with customer focused services supported by state-of-the-art stock WMS and IT systems. The portfolio of services available is continually growing and includes product consolidation, picking & packing, re-packaging, JIT product supply and warehousing and distribution solutions using strategic distribution partners across the country.
